DIY Neckstrap for the Martin

I was wondering how to attach a guitar strap to the Martin HD-28 securely and removably. Securely meaning so it doesn’t come off on it’s own, doesn’t mar the nitro finish (even one of my guitar stands left a sticky residue) and leaves access to the first frets unimpeded. And removably because I keep the Martin in it’s case with a humidifier between sessions. Using parts of a set of camera straps I got from UPstrap, I McGuyvered the solution you see in the little slideshow above. I like a narrow strap with a light guitar like the Martin. And even though it does look that way in two of the photos, no rubber touches the guitar’s finish permanently, just the Nylon strap. The wide rubber bands are just to protect against scratches when mounting or dismounting the strap. When I put my guitar in the case, I leave only the part that’s on the headstock attached, there’s enough room for it n the headstock pocket.
